Your Guide to Lactation Success

About Me

I am a wife, a mother of four, a daughter, a sister, and a lover of all things homemade and natural. As a young adult, the two smartest things I ever did were to meet my husband and go to nursing school. My love for infants began when I was a child, therefore, the happiest days of my adult life were after my own children were born. I grew into who I am today through mothering, observing, and listening to my own children,
and the mothers and children I’ve cared for. I love to read historical fiction, listen to spiritual podcasts, meditate, and watch documentaries and 90’s movies. I volunteer as a nurse on medical missions to Central America with the non-profit organization Extra Mile Pediatrics.
Professionally, I worked for 14 years in the hospital setting taking care of children and postpartum families. When I left that setting, I worked for ten years in a pediatric private practice as a board certified lactation consultant. Today, I work solo serving parents and infants in their homes.
What grounds me in this life is my family, friends, and these truths; I am an awakened soul living out my human experience, and love conquers all things.

My Focus

Mother-Child Wellness

Becoming a parent is transformative; physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Each of you is unique and divine. I vow to tailor my approach to your specific needs. I am dedicated to observing, listening, and guiding you on your path to listening to your body and your baby's.

Personalized Care

I provide personalized lactation support and assistance, integrating education and diverse solutions, such as myofascial exercises and craniosacral therapy for your infant. From tailored feeding plans to emotional support, your journey at this stage is my priority. I will evaluate tongue ties, nipple pain, slow weight gain, low supply, and fussy babies. I will conduct a history, assessment, and weight before we initiate a feeding. Visit duration is typically 90-120 minutes.

Whatever feeding success looks like to you, I am here to support and help you reach that goal. I will cover such topics as infant stages, safe sleep positions, drug compatibility, returning to work, pumping, bottle-feeding, and weaning.

Client Testimonials

"Tracie has been amazing with helping me navigate breastfeeding as a first time mom. I first reached out to her desperate for help the morning my milk came in, and she made time for a home visit with me that same day. She helped me through the engorgement and provided me with great tools on how to be successful on this breastfeeding journey with my baby girl. The home visits have been a lifesaver, particularly being in the early postpartum days when leaving the house for appointments is really difficult."
"Tracie has been so kind, patient, and positive with my concerns about how to successfully breastfeed. This is one area I felt very unprepared for after my child was born, even after taking a breastfeeding class during pregnancy. The weighed feedings have also given me confidence in my milk production and amount that my baby is receiving. She has helped me with proper latch, breastfeeding positions, nipple shields, haakaa, breast pump, and even helped me figure out the baby carrying wrap I had. I always feel more confident in my abilities to breastfeed after our sessions." -KG
"I highly recommend Journey Fed. Tracie made me feel incredibly at home from the moment we met. Her encouragement and knowledge calmed my anxieties as a first time mom. I was so grateful to have someone come to my home during the early postpartum days of healing! She reminded me that all the hard things I was experiencing were normal and would get better. She was so right!”
